- Provide direct therapeutic services: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy and crisis intervention both in the school building and in the home/community setting.
- Assess the current levels of functioning and needs of each child on caseload.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents/guardians of each child.
- Develop and maintain relationships with all collateral contacts: outside therapists, psychiatrists, caseworkers, probation officers and agencies (monthly contact, at minimum).
- Coordinate development of IEP’s with teachers, stating each child’s present level of performance, objectives to meet the child’s needs, evaluation procedures and schedules for determining when objectives are met.
- Develop, implement and frequently review IEP’s and Behavior Management Plans (BIP) for students, along with attending Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) meetings for all students on individual therapy caseload.
- Develop Social\-Emotional Goal Section for student's IEP annual review; attend annual IEP, transition, tri\-annual review, and other IEP meetings. Prepare any other documents as requested by Administrative team.
- Maintain records for each student on caseload, including (but not limited to): Individual Education Plan (IEP), documentation of ongoing evaluation of students’ progress towards their IEP goals \& objectives, related services schedules, weekly casenotes of therapy sessions, phone contacts and meetings with parents and collateral contacts, SCERTS Profiles Ratings, emergency and medical information.
- Maintain service log documentation of individual, group, family, community contact and consultation minutes to verify that all IEP Related Services minutes are being met for all students on caseload.
- For students on individual caseload, develop and maintain an awareness of: intellectual functioning, cognitive processing, educational achievement, adaptive behavior, social/emotional development, behavioral assessment, determination of learning processes and assessment of the student’s most conducive learning environment.
- Present clinical information in IEP meetings.
- Maintain clinical files: treatment plans, diagnosis, clinical goals, progress notes, etc.
- Attend weekly individual supervision/consultation.
- Participate in weekly group supervisions and didactic trainings.
- Lead case presentations on a rotating schedule.
- Collaborate with the school’s clinical team and administration.
- Other clinical duties include: crisis management, risk assessment, develop therapeutic summaries, engage in team meetings.
- Be an integral, dynamic member of the school team of professionals.
- Follow all school policies, procedures and regulations.
- Maintain school’s safety plan.
- Be certified in Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
- Document and maintain availability to students in need of Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or other behavioral interventions.
- In coordination with RIS staff, document all “Restrictive Intervention” and CPI (therapeutic hold) incidents and contact parents to inform them of any crisis situation.
- Project a positive, professional image by openly communicating, problem\-solving and disseminating information, and being responsive to the needs of students, families, colleagues, administration, district personnel, and community agencies.
- Strive to improve leadership skills through self\-initiated professional growth and development activities by utilizing information and insights gained in professional efforts for self\-improvement.
- Maintain availability to staff and trainees in need of support, assistance and consultation including clinical conceptualizations and risk situations.
- Provide community referrals and help to coordinate services.
- Participate in all Peer Mediations for students on caseload.
- Promptly and accurately submit all required paperwork and documents.
- For transitioning students, collaborate with the regular education program, technology campus program, or job training program that they attend to support and maintain their transition.
- Maintain accurate, up to date psychiatric information for each student on caseload (e.g. medication, hospitalizations).
- Find coverage for any scheduled activities that you are unable to attend, such as: staffings, group therapy, consultation with consulting psychiatrist or Functional Behavior Assessment meetings.
- Participate in all staff meetings and in\-service training sessions.
- Notify staff receptionist and supervisors by 7:00 AM, if unable to be present at the school that day. Notify staff receptionist and supervisors of any future dates you will be out of the building.
- Provide supervision to trainees and staff members as requested by the Senior Psychologist.
- Review and provide feedback on clinical documentation for supervisees.
- Collaborate with Administration to assist with home visits.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Administration.
