Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Part\-Time Church Secretary/Ministry Assistant to Monday\-Thursday mornings. This vital role involves communications, calendaring and connecting with hospitality to members and guests. This position supports the work of pastors and directors and shares work with the afternoon Admin. Assist. and volunteers. The ideal candidate will bring ministry experience as an employee or volunteer, strong office management skills and proficiency in various computer applications. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and a servant's heart with a warm, welcoming demeanor that reflects the spirit of our community is essential. This position offers an opportunity to serve actively within a vibrant, growing United Methodist Church with a heart for missions and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere for staff, members and guests
  • Receive and make ministry\-related phone calls, forwarding messages promptly
  • Assist with maintenance of church data base
  • Create social media campaigns, worship slides and more via Apple Computer software
  • Assist with office management duties such as proofreading communications, printing, folding and mailing newsletters and other correspondence
  • Connect to needed information and resources
  • Communicate with respect and gentleness, maintaining confidentiality
  • Qualifications

  • Proven office experience with strong clerical skills including data entry, filing, and document proofreading
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Apple Productivity Suite and familiarity with Google Workspace applications
  • Excellent phone etiquette with experience managing multi\-line phone systems in a professional setting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with quick typing skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with friendly, positive communication style
  • Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple responsibilities in a supportive manner

    Pay: $17\.00 \- $18\.00 per hour

  • Are you available to work Monday through Thursday mornings each week including near and on Christian holidays?

  • Are you willing to drive the church van for church\-related errands?
