Position: Purchasing Assistant

Reports to: VP of Administration

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the purchasing department by ensuring efficient and timely procurement of goods and services. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Purchase Order Processing:

  • Create and process purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy of purchase order information, including pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
  • Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
  • * Vendor Management:

  • Maintain and update vendor information and contact details.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new vendors.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers.
  • * Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and place purchase orders as needed.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate receipt and storage of goods.
  • * Data Entry and Reporting:

  • Enter purchase order information into the purchasing system.
  • Generate reports on purchasing activity, vendor performance, and inventory levels.
  • * Administrative Support:

  • Assist with various administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Provide support to the Purchasing Agent on special projects.
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of Purchasing experience in a Manufacturing setting
  • required.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Pay is $22\.00 \- $25\.00/hour, DOE

    Pay: $22\.00 \- $25\.00 per hour
