Pinto Valley is an open\-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe\-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050\.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or diploma in related field.
- 5 years in electrical engineering or maintenance in a mining operational facility.
- Knowledge of safety protocols to ensure electrical safety for personnel at processing plants and open pit mines.
- Mining site electrical engineering or maintenance experience is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power and control systems, PLC configuration, database management, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and industry standards such as NEC, NFPA, ISA, and IEC.
- Experience conducting high voltage and power system studies.
- Proficient with industrial automation systems, including SCADA and HMI design.
- Hands\-on experience with mining equipment like crushers, conveyors, ball mills, pumps, flotation cells, filter plants, trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, and graders.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Electrical or electronics engineering degree.
- 5 years in electrical engineering or maintenance in a mining operational facility.
- Demonstrates safety awareness by proactively identifying hazards and implementing mitigation measures.
- Utilizes analytical skills to troubleshoot electrical equipment and interpret performance data effectively.
- Manages multiple projects and tasks concurrently with strong organizational skills.
- Embraces a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities and implement process enhancements.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Electrical Engineering, you are responsible for the overall site electrical engineering function, as well as the electrical reliability, process control and electrical condition monitoring tasks at the Pinto Valley Mine Site. You also have a lead role in supporting field equipment troubleshooting of electrical issues, as well as maintaining and updating safety protocols regarding interactions with electrical equipment. This position works closely with the electrical maintenance, operations and assets and engineering teams to optimize maintenance strategies, maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and process control strategies.

Health, Safety \& Environment: Follow all MSHA and Pinto Valley safety policies, optimize key procedures (e.g., lockout/tagout, grounding, HV switching), and support proactive risk reduction initiatives.
Electrical Reliability Engineering: Develop and implement electrical maintenance strategies, manage risks related to obsolete or underperforming equipment, and lead root cause analyses for defect elimination.
Electrical Maintenance Engineering: Conduct power system studies, support QA/QC during maintenance, develop procedures, and lead troubleshooting of complex electrical issues.
Process Control Engineering: Lead the process control team to develop and optimize control strategies, manage alarm systems, ensure documentation is current, and support control room operator performance.
Electrical Statutory Maintenance: Oversee compliance with government\-mandated electrical maintenance, calibration standards, and documentation for insurance and regulatory purposes.
Electrical Condition Monitoring: Develop and implement condition monitoring programs using techniques such as thermography, oil analysis, and harmonic monitoring to support proactive asset management.
Project \& Cross\-Functional Collaboration: Represent the electrical discipline in engineering reviews and coordinate with IT and other teams to resolve system and infrastructure issues.
