The Obermann Center for Advanced Studies is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to fostering innovative scholarship at the University of Iowa, serving the University of Iowa community for nearly fifty years. Through grants, fellowships, collaborative research initiatives, public programming, and partnership with scholars locally and globally, the Center serves as a hub for intellectual inquiry and creative exploration. The Assistant Director plays a central role in advancing this mission in close partnership with the Director.
The University of Iowa seeks a highly organized, intellectually engaged scholar\-administrator to serve as Assistant Director of the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies. Reporting directly to the Director, the Assistant Director contributes to the strategic leadership, programmatic development, and daily operations of the Center. This is an exceptional opportunity for a scholar with administrative acumen to support and continue shaping a leading interdisciplinary center for the University of Iowa.

Qualifications:
Education or Equivalency Required:
A master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of experience in program administration, academic program management, or a related administrative role at an institution of higher learning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including writing for non\-academic audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with a wide variety of faculty, staff and students as well as with distinguished visitors and community partners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment, with excellent attention to detail.
- Doctoral degree is highly preferred.
- Experience with fundraising, development, or grant writing.
- Experience with fellowship or grant program administration.
