Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly via phone and in person, establishing a welcoming atmosphere through excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Assist patients with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using electronic health record systems
- Collect and verify patient information accurately through data entry and maintain confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations
- Provide clear explanations of medical procedures, billing processes, and insurance requirements to enhance patient understanding
- Manage incoming calls efficiently, addressing inquiries promptly while maintaining professionalism and empathy
- Support medical office staff by performing basic administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and document organization
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to relay patient information accurately and facilitate seamless communication across departments
- Proven experience in customer service within a medical or healthcare environment is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with medical office procedures
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and compassionately
- Proficiency in computer skills including data entry, electronic health records (EHR), and basic office software
