- Administer, maintain, and support the school’s wired and wireless network infrastructure.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment and core services, including switches, firewalls, wireless systems, VPN connectivity, authentication systems, and related technologies.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity, taking proactive steps to address service interruptions or performance concerns.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and documenting network upgrades, improvements, and infrastructure changes.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, and technical documentation.
- Administer and support the school’s endpoint environment, including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, and other managed user devices.
- Oversee device deployment, configuration, imaging, software installation, patching, inventory tracking, and lifecycle replacement processes.
- Administer endpoint management and remote support tools to ensure devices remain secure, current, and aligned with school standards.
- Establish and maintain endpoint configuration standards and support practices that promote consistency, efficiency, and security.
- Troubleshoot complex endpoint issues and provide escalated technical support as needed.
- Support the school’s cybersecurity efforts through the administration of endpoint protection, access controls, secure configurations, patch compliance, and related safeguards.
- Assist with monitoring, investigating, and responding to system alerts, suspicious activity, and infrastructure\-related security concerns.
- Support backup verification, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity efforts for critical systems and services.
- Assist with administration of related systems and services, including account management, permissions, cloud\-based platforms, and infrastructure dependencies, as assigned.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen system reliability, security, and operational resilience.
- Provide advanced technical support for infrastructure, network, and device\-related issues escalated beyond the Help Desk level.
- Work collaboratively with IT team members, school administrators, faculty, and staff to support school operations and instructional needs.
- Participate in technology projects, implementations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support, procurement, warranty service, and issue resolution.
- Assist in evaluating hardware, software, and technology solutions based on school needs, compatibility, security, and cost\-effectiveness.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of systems, procedures, support processes, and technology standards.
- Help develop and refine IT procedures, administrative practices, and support standards that improve service delivery and operational consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve endpoint management, network reliability, security posture, and overall IT operations.
- Remain current on emerging technologies, cybersecurity risks, and best practices relevant to K–12 schools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems administration, endpoint management, or related IT infrastructure support.
- Experience administering network systems and supporting managed endpoint environments.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem\-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a service\-oriented environment.
- Experience working in a K–12 school, higher education, or other mission\-driven organization.
- Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft environments, identity and access systems, endpoint management platforms, and remote monitoring tools.
- Experience with firewalls, wireless infrastructure, content filtering, MFA, endpoint protection, and other cybersecurity tools.
- Industry certifications such as Network\+, Security\+, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent credentials.

- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, wireless networking, VPNs, and authentication systems.
- Strong knowledge of endpoint administration, software deployment, patching, and device lifecycle management.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in addressing technical issues and recommending solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non\-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

- Regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move technology equipment up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to install, move, and support equipment in classrooms, offices, and network or equipment spaces.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
- Must be able to work on ladders, under desks, and in confined areas such as wiring closets when needed.

- Work is performed in a school environment with frequent interaction with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and outside vendors.

Forsyth Country Day School seeks a knowledgeable, dependable, and service\-oriented Network and Endpoint Engineer to support the school’s technology infrastructure and managed computing environment. This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of the school’s network systems and endpoint devices.
The Network and Endpoint Services Engineer plays an important role in ensuring that faculty, staff, and students have reliable, secure, and effective access to the technology resources necessary to support teaching, learning, and school operations. This position requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic school environment.
