POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Imaging/Transc/Tech aid supports the daily operations of the Radiology Department by providing direct, hands\-on assistance to technologists and radiologists across all imaging modalities, including X\-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Mammography. This position ensures smooth patient workflow, assists in patient preparation and transport, and performs a variety of clerical and technical support tasks to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction. The Medical Imaging Tech Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and well\-organized work environment in compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
In addition to clinical support, the position performs key patient access functions, including patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and order entry, ensuring accurate documentation and a positive patient experience from check\-in to discharge. The role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills to coordinate care efficiently while adhering to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
The Medical Imaging Tech Assistant / Patient Access Specialist will coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times and ensure the timely completion of exams, helping to maintain an efficient schedule and positive patient experience. This role requires clear and effective communication with technologists, radiologists, nurses, and other departments to support seamless operations and collaborative care. Additionally, the position responds promptly to requests for assistance within the department, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting both patient and staff needs.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
*Education:*
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must maintain a current valid certification of the following throughout employment:
- One (1\) year prior experience in a hospital, imaging, or patient setting.
- Possession of high ethical standards and no history of complaints
- Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of maintaining multiple communication channels
- General knowledge of the Radiology department
- Completion of and above\-satisfactory scores on all job interviews, demonstrating to the satisfaction of the interviewees and TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks, including positive employment references from authorized representatives of past and current employers demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC a record of satisfactory performance and that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Submission of all required employment\-related documents, applications, resumes, references, and other required information free of false, misleading, or incomplete information, as determined by TCRHCC.

- Answer phones, schedule patients, and verify exam orders when necessary.
- Complete basic data entry, order verification, and documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Maintain logs, records, and quality control documentation as required.
- Shares in the responsibility of the transporting of inpatients, emergency room patients or ER Annex patients.
- Communicates to appropriate members of the health care team specific observations or changes in patient’s condition.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding administrative and patient issues.
- Follows TCRHCC Hand off policy when picking up or delivering patients to their respective locations.
- Assists with patient transporting, dressing/undressing, and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Performs duties such as checking in Medical Imaging patients into the Synapse RIS, Report distribution, appointment reminder calls
- Understands and adheres to established compliance and quality assurance standards.
- General knowledge of disease and illness and skill to be able to properly schedule patients for additional imaging.
- Duties include the provision of patient care and support to individuals of all ages and their families.
- Maintain and support collaborate goals, relationships with all Departments Will adhere to TCRHCC mission, goals and policies.
- Promotes a Safe Environment of Care, to reduce risks, maintain safety in the work area by observing, reporting, and responding to safety issues.
- Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH\-approved N95 filtering face piece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
- Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates).
- Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee, and external customer satisfaction.
