Missouri Table \& Chair is a business that sells commercial furniture online to other businesses that serve food such as casual dining restaurants, golf courses, coffee shops to casinos. Our customers can be found anywhere in the United States and a few in Canada. At one time we sold to the retail market, had a manufacturing plant and 50 employees, but since 2006 we only work with commercial customers.
In 2015 we built a house specifically for our online only business which has turned out to be an excellent decision. Currently there are 4 of us onsite in this comfortable house with others doing remote work as we are all set up to work from anywhere. Since the business started in May of 1981 we have our work routines down, but there are always new challenges with computers to changing customer attitudes. With being such a small company we can make decisions quickly for the benefit of everyone.
The work is mostly talking with customers that we attract using various marketing efforts, and the majority of work is managing customers and our various vendors. What is particularly satisfying is being able to pick out furniture and colors for a customer's unique business. While problems arise from time to time we will make sure in the end the customer is satisfied. Over all the years since established in 1981 we have a loyal following of customers in our database.
Finally, it is important to work hard, but to enjoy what we do. The basic rules are take care of the customer, dress comfortable and find ways to find job satisfaction. Once trained, micromanaging is not our style, although we work together to solve issues when they do arrive, so a team feeling rules the office. If all of us do well we share in end of the month bonuses.
Job Description:
We are seeking an Executive Assistant to learn all the functions of Missouri Table \& Chair, essentially covering every aspect of the business from sales to solving problems. Our business is online only selling furniture to mostly restaurants.
Job Duties:
* Sales \- communicate with customers, recommend furniture, write up sales orders, and follow the order until completion, solving any issues along the way. At first, this will take the majority of time to learn the process with new and existing customers.
* Marketing \- assist in managing all marketing efforts such as our 2 mailing list campaigns, SEO efforts, making changes to website, working with our developer. All marketing will be trained and the right candidate does not need to be proficient in all these area, but to be able to commincate to people who are experts.
* Computers \- work with our IT person making sure all computers are running smoothly and updates are made as needed. With our IT person make upgrades to equipment as needed. Not necessary to be a computer expert only to manage others who are experts.
* Bookkeeping \- communicate with the bookkeeper and sales people as needed, solving any issues such as with account receivables or any sales errors.
* Working with people \- is a key to success from the customer to outside vendors, having good people skills when problems arise. To be even tempered and upbeat in any situation and enjoy the problem solving with a smile.
