Title: Executive Assistant
Background: Archaeological Legacy Institute (ALI) is a 25\+ years’ ongoing tax\-exempt nonprofit organization based in Eugene. Our streaming\-media Web site, The Archaeology Channel (www.archaeologychannel.org), has become one of the world’s most popular Web sites relating to archaeology and cultural heritage, with annual traffic of around one million pageviews. ALI also organizes The Archaeology Channel International Film Festival, Lane County’s longest\-running film festival. We produce a monthly cable TV show—STRATA: Portraits of Humanity—and a weekly podcast, produce films, organize guided tours worldwide to sites of archaeological and cultural heritage interest, and operate our own streaming video\-on\-demand platform, Heritage Broadcasting Service (heritagetac.org). ALI has numerous opportunities for unlimited growth as an Internet media and public outreach organization and needs to expand its paid work force in order to take advantage of these opportunities.
Hourly Commitment: 40\-160 hours per month, in the office.
Pay Scale: $18/hour to start, rising to $20 on July 1, 2026\.
Job Purpose: To assist the Executive Director, help conduct daily office functions and activities and project\-specific tasks through the application of standard, efficient office management practices.
Description: Our office work load has grown to the point where our Executive Assistants are essential for handling routine office tasks such as filing, bill paying, bookkeeping, correspondence, and so forth, while also trying to develop and manage programs and raise funds. We have an opening now for an Executive Assistant to maintain our capacity to organize multiple annual tours and help mount an expedition to one of the remotest places on the planet, as well as to improve and maintain the office infrastructure, carry out project\-specific work and support the activities of the others who work here. This is a chance to help accelerate the progress of a dynamic and growing nonprofit enterprise. You will be joining an aggressive and innovative team on a mission to create a unique media organization with worldwide influence. Your help here will have a direct impact on ALI's productivity and ability to pursue its public mission. The experience gained here could lead to advancement within ALI and would be directly transferable to other office positions you might seek elsewhere in the future.
Key Responsibilities: Very diverse, possibly including filing, bill paying, bookkeeping, correspondence, scheduling, fund\-raising, data management, research, project management, and special assignments as needed.
Requirements: We prefer people who have interest and some experience in office and project management and event planning. Good communication skills and a solid educational background are essential. A mature person looking to apply experience to make a difference and excited about our innovative programs would be ideal, but we are willing to consider younger, energetic and dedicated people as well. We will train you in the day\-to\-day tasks so that you can take them on yourself with confidence.
