Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development and strategy.
- Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage legal case files and document management systems like Mycase and Docketwise to ensure accurate recordkeeping and easy retrieval of information.
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and tracking case progress across multiple practice areas.
- Conduct interviews with clients, witnesses, or experts to gather relevant information for ongoing cases.
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and maintaining organized files both digitally and physically.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, preparing reports, handling correspondence, and maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Extensive knowledge of various legal practice areas such as estate planning, family law, and immigration law.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis to facilitate thorough case analysis.
- Experience with legal case management software for efficient document handling.
- Strong project management skills to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple cases or projects.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.
- Attention to detail in proofreading and document review to ensure accuracy in all work products.
- Effective interviewing techniques to gather pertinent case information from clients or witnesses.
- Superior organizational skills for managing large volumes of files, data entry tasks, and administrative responsibilities.
- Knowledge of family law, immigration law, as well as familiarity with clerical experience in a busy law office setting.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies such as iManage or document management systems while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
