The mission of the Undergraduate Admissions Office is to meet the established University enrollment goals by recruiting undergraduate applicants. Our goal is to recruit applicants who can contribute to and profit from the University in academic programs and activities; assisting prospects and applicants in realizing their academic ambitions through counseling; accurately and efficiently reviewing academic credentials and notifying applicants of decisions; and providing the University community with data necessary for advising and enrollment planning.

We value our position as the first contact a prospective student or the general public may have with the University. Providing timely and accurate information and effectively monitoring the admissions process is critical to the successful recruitment of qualified students. Functionally, the office staff works closely with the faculty and support units on campus and with high school counselors, parents, and community college counselors off\-campus.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Assistant Director of Recruitment \& Technology serves a dual\-functional role, responsible for managing a recruitment territory while serving as a primary Slate Captain for the Undergraduate Admissions team. This individual acts as a functional liaison between the recruitment team and the operations/IT unit, ensuring that Slate portals, communications, and workflows are optimized for the recruitment cycle.
The Assistant Director represents the Admissions Office and the University in a variety of settings on and off campus without supervision; they must make independent decisions, communicate accurate information regarding University policies, financial aid, and academic programs, and provide expert counseling to prospective students and families.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
Recruitment \& Territory Management
- Manage a designated geographic territory, developing and executing a strategic plan to meet specific enrollment goals.
- Conduct high school visits, attend college fairs, and host information sessions (in\-person and virtual) to represent the University and its programs.
- Evaluate undergraduate applications for admission using professional judgment and institutional standards via Slate Reader.
- Provide expert guidance to prospective students and families regarding the admissions process, financial aid, and academic offerings via phone, email, and one\-on\-one appointments.
- Serve as a primary “super\-user” and functional help desk for the Undergraduate Admissions team, resolving technical CRM hurdles to ensure daily operational flow.
- Design and lead ongoing Slate training sessions and create “Standard Operating Procedure” (SOP) documentation to increase staff proficiency.
- Work with Enrollment Programs \& Communications to build and manage automated communication tracks (emails, SMS, and drip campaigns) within Slate to engage students throughout the enrollment funnel.
- Develop custom Slate Queries to help team members track their territory metrics and monitor progress toward recruitment targets.
- When asked, partner with campus departments to update their portals into functional Slate workflows and automated processes.
- Identify opportunities within Slate to increase overall team efficiency and data accuracy.
- Support large\-scale, office\-wide events such as Open House, Admitted Student Days, and other recruitment and yield events as needed.
- Stay current on regional and national admissions trends, as well as evolving Technolutions Slate updates, through webinars, conferences, and user groups.
- Participate in departmental or University\-wide task forces and committees as assigned by the Senior Leadership.
- Assist with all areas of counseling within the admissions office to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Master’s Degree required or Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent experience.
- Hands\-on experience in Technolutions Slate, with demonstrated expertise in building queries, utilizing the Deliver module, and building events and related communications.
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts for non\-technical audiences, including experience developing training documentation to ensure user understanding.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using logic\-based tools to create dashboards, reports, and automated processes that drive recruitment strategy.
- Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS, SQL, or Liquid Markup to assist in the customization of Slate Portals, email templates, and landing pages.
- Experience with undergraduate admissions recruitment, territory management and application review; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
