Role Summary
================
The Performance Management Principal is a senior individual contributor responsible for advancing administrative expense discipline and driving efficiency and effectiveness priorities across Cigna Healthcare. This role serves as the single point of accountability for performance transparency, cost\-to\-serve insights, and executive\-ready materials that inform leadership decisions.
The principal designs and owns the operating expense framework, translates analyses into actionable insights, and ensures leadership has a clear, consistent view of where and why we spend money, how it drives business outcomes, and where we have opportunities. This role partners closely with Finance, Business Technology, HR, and other enterprise stakeholders, operating with a high degree of judgment, influence, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

Admin Expense (OpEx / SG\&A) Management
- Own and drive the administrative expense management agenda across the health plan, establishing clear standards, frameworks, and operating discipline.
- Partner with Finance and Business leaders to ensure consistent interpretation, governance, and accountability for OpEx decisions.
- Design and maintain a comprehensive OpEx placemat containing trends, risks, and opportunities, and elevate insights with recommendations and trade\-offs for leadership consideration.
- Own the aggregation of Monthly Business Review (MBR) materials, including various placemats and scorecards.
- Partner with stakeholders to continuously improve metrics, definitions, and usability.
- Ensure scorecards align with leadership priorities, enable accountability, and support proactive management rather than retrospective review.
- Drive and deploy identified activities that cut across multiple teams.
- Influence without authority by grounding recommendations in data, business context, and enterprise perspective.
- Drive consistency across teams while respecting nuance in how different parts of the business operate.
- Operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, balancing analytical rigor with practical judgment.
- 8\+ years of experience in performance management, expense management, finance, or business operations within Cigna.
- Deep understanding of Cigna's SG\&A / administrative expense structures and operating models.
- Demonstrated ability to translate detailed financial data into clear, executive\-level insights.
- Proven experience owning executive\-facing materials (e.g., MBRs, scorecards, performance narratives).
- Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and storytelling skills.
- Exceptional judgment and comfort operating independently in ambiguous, high\-stakes environments.
