Job Summary
The Junior Estimator is *an entry\-level position
- responsible for supporting the Estimating Team with basic take\-offs, document organization, bid scheduling, and administrative tasks. This role is designed for someone who is beginning their career and will receive full training on plan reading, estimating software, preconstruction processes, and commercial landscape construction. The goal is for this person to gradually grow into a full Estimator.
- Help review plans, specifications, and basic project details to understand initial scope.
- Perform simple quantity take\-offs under the direction of senior estimators.
- Enter take\-off measurements and pricing data into spreadsheets or estimating software.
- Assist in collecting material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Support the team in checking estimates for missing or incomplete information.
- Assist with small, estimates as part of the training progresses.
- Download, save, and organize plan sets, addendums, RFIs, and all project documents.
- Create estimate folders and ensure documents are filed correctly.
- Distribute addendums and revisions to the team promptly.
- Add bid invites and due dates to the bid schedule for the Houston and Corpus Christi markets.
- Update schedules as new invites come in or deadlines change.
- Look for required pre\-bid meetings and schedule them directly on the calendars of the Estimating Team using shared calendar access.
- Track bid status and assist with client follow\-up emails or calls.
- Search for upcoming bidding opportunities on PlanHub, ConstructConnect, and Virtual Builder.
- Gather basic project info and share with senior estimators for review.
- Assist in assembling preconstruction binders, including plans, details, specifications, schedules, subcontractor lists, and estimate summaries..
- Help with Autodesk file creation and updates (plan sheets, take\-off files, markups, etc.), with training.
- Assist in sending bid invitations to subcontractors and vendors.
- Help with filing, data entry, and general administrative estimating tasks.
- Attend team meetings and participate in structured training to grow estimating skills.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn commercial landscape construction estimating.
- Maintain strong organization and document accuracy.
- Work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and core values in all work.
- Able to sit onsite five days a week
- Horticulture/environmental/construction management degree or current student majoring in that field is great!
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- This is a full\-time position, Monday\-Friday 8AM\-5PM. Onsite in Fort Worth.
