JOB SUMMARY
- As an Accounting Intern with Schellman, you'll support the accounting team with a variety of accounts receivable and operational accounting tasks. This is a task\-oriented role focused on keeping processes accurate, organized, and moving efficiently. Please note this role does not involve general ledger accounting.
- Support accounts receivable functions including cash application and related tasks
- Assist with portal uploads and data entry with a high degree of accuracy
- Convert and organize process documentation from PDF to Excel
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
- Contribute to one\-off cleanup projects as assigned
- Collaborate with the accounting team on active tasks and initiatives
- Adhere to task deadlines and keep team members informed of progress
- Escalate issues or discrepancies in a timely and appropriate manner
- Attend team meetings and onboarding activities, including shadowing during the first week
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all work product
- Ability to manage task\-oriented, process\-driven work efficiently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Willingness to take on varied assignments and adapt to shifting priorities
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; completion of core accounting coursework required
- Junior or Senior level standing preferred
- Experience through coursework, internships, or administrative/accounting roles
