Job Summary
We are seeking an Architectural Design Assistant for our Bellevue, WA or Tigard, OR office to support residential home design projects.
This role focuses on organizing drawing revisions, preparing revision instructions, and reviewing drawings for accuracy under the direction of designers. Design decisions are made under the guidance of designers.
The position also includes coordination with internal teams and external partners, as well as support for building permit applications and related documentation.
Full production drafting is handled by a separate team. This role primarily involves coordinating revisions and reviewing drawings, with limited use of AutoCAD for site plans and detail updates.

Key Responsibilities
- Organize drawing revisions based on redlines and verbal/email instructions
- Prepare and communicate revision instructions to the drafting team
- Review drawings for accuracy and consistency
- Assist with layout adjustments based on existing floor plans
- Perform limited AutoCAD drafting (primarily for site plans and detail updates)
- Edit and manage PDF drawings using PDF editing software
- Perform data entry and manage design\-related information
- Support preparation of building permit drawing sets
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners
- Assist with permit\-related documentation and submissions
- Maintain drawing files and templates
- Visit project sites as needed
- Deliver or submit documents to city/county offices as needed
- Responsible for coordinating drawing revisions and ensuring design intent is accurately reflected in drawings
- A support role that follows established workflows while allowing for practical adjustments as needed
- Involves both technical coordination and administrative support
- Provides an opportunity to learn the residential design process and develop toward a design role
- Basic understanding of architectural drawings (plans, elevations, sections)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD (experience with similar CAD software is a plus)
- Professional\-level English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Valid driver’s license
- Education in architecture, building design, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge/experience
- Experience in residential design or construction documents
- Experience with PDF editing software
- Japanese\-English bilingual candidates are welcome
- Able to accurately understand instructions and carry out work with attention to detail
- Values precision and consistency in drawings
- Able to work consistently and reliably on a day\-to\-day basis
- Able to adapt and work within a team structure
