We're hiring an Office Manager.
Not a front desk person with a better title. An actual manager — someone who runs the business side of a growing dental practice so the dentist can focus on patients.
Compensation: $60,000–$85,000/year salary \+ performance bonuses
Schedule: Monday–Thursday in\-office, Friday remote admin day (moving to in\-person starting mid\-summer)
Benefits: 80% employer\-paid health insurance, 8 days PTO, 7 days paid Holidays, vision insurance, dental benefits
Location: Spring Hope, NC (Nash County — 20 min from Rocky Mount, \~35 min from Raleigh)
About Us
Spring Hope Family Dentistry is a private practice that's grown 52% in 18 months. We're not a corporate chain. We're a small team doing big things — CBCT, digital scanning, 3D printing, AI\-assisted diagnostics — in a town of 1,300 people. We've built something real, and now we need someone to help run it.
What this role actually looks like:
- Team leadership — you help make sure everyone's on track, support performance conversations, coordinate training, and optimize the schedule. You're the go\-to person for keeping the team running smoothly.
- Financial oversight — you keep an eye on the practice's financial health day\-to\-day. That means monitoring accounts receivable, staying on top of collections, understanding the P\&L, and flagging problems early. If AR is aging past 90 days, you're the one who sees it and directs the team to fix it.
- Patient experience — when a patient has a complaint or concern, you help resolve it directly, professionally, and quickly.
- Operations — payroll, vendor management, rent, supply ordering oversight, making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- KPIs and metrics — you help track production, collections, AR aging, cancellation rates, and case acceptance. The goal is knowing our numbers and working with the team to improve them.
- Hiring and onboarding — when we need someone new, you help run the process from posting to offer to training.
- Compliance — partner with our clinical lead on OSHA/HIPAA, keep SOPs current, make sure we're always audit\-ready.
- Marketing support — manage Google Business Profile posts, monitor the website, make sure phone lines are working. The owner handles bigger strategy — you keep the basics running.
- Management experience — you've supervised people before and you're comfortable leading a team. This is the \#1 thing we care about.
- Financial comfort — you can look at a P\&L and understand what the numbers mean. You don't need to be an accountant — just someone who isn't afraid of spreadsheets and AR reports.
- Good communicator — whether it's a tough conversation with a team member or a frustrated patient, you handle it with professionalism and empathy.
- Organized and reliable — you build systems, follow through, and keep things moving.
- Tech comfortable — we use modern systems (cloud PMS, digital forms, AI tools). You don't need to be an expert, but you should be willing to learn.
- No specific industry experience required — dental, medical, retail, hospitality, service businesses — if you've managed people and operations somewhere, that experience translates. We'll teach you the dental side.
- Real authority — you'll have the autonomy to build systems and make decisions. No corporate red tape.
- A strong clinical team — you're not doing this alone. The clinical side is handled. You focus on the business side.
- Training and support — we'll get you up to speed on everything dental. What matters is your management ability.
- Growth potential — as the practice grows, this role grows with it.

- How many people have you directly managed, and what did managing them look like day\-to\-day? Please give us a sense of your typical responsibilities.
- Tell me about a time you had to address underperformance with a team member. How did you approach it, and what was the outcome?
- What KPIs or metrics did you track in your last role, and can you share an example of how you used one to make a decision or change?
- This is a full\-time salaried position in Spring Hope, NC — Monday through Thursday in\-office. How soon could you start, and is the location something that works for you long\-term?
- If you were in our shoes, what would you add or change about this job posting to make it more effective?
- Management: 2 years (Required)

Why this role exists:
The owner is currently doing both jobs — running the practice and seeing patients. Evenings, weekends, constant context\-switching. The practice has outgrown that setup. This hire replaces the owner as the day\-to\-day business manager so he can focus on what he does best.
This isn't a job where you answer phones and hope for a promotion. This is the promotion. You'll run the business operations of a practice doing $1\.85M in production with a team of 9 (and growing).
If you've been the person who actually runs things — not just the person with the title — we'd love to hear from you.
