Overview:
McGuireWoods is searching for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in Richmond, VA or Chicago, IL. This person will provide administrative and operational support to the Employee Relations team, with a focus on supporting employee relations activities and day\-to\-day HR operations. This role helps ensure the efficient, consistent execution of HR processes while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Employee Relations team across HR activities
- Assist with employee relations matters, including intake, documentation, tracking, and follow\-up
- Support preparation of employee communications and documentation (e.g., performance discussions, corrective actions)
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for HR\-related meetings and investigations
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including system updates and documentation
- Partner with HRIS and internal teams to ensure accurate data entry and reporting
- Respond to routine employee and manager inquiries, escalating issues as appropriate
- Support process improvements and maintain standardized HR procedures
- Assist with special projects and HR initiatives as needed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and 1–2 years of HR, recruiting, or related experience
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn HR systems
- Strong follow\-through and ability to work independently
