The Data Engineer 2 Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Data Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
The Data Engineer 2 ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns. Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big\-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data into insights and actions that enables Humana to better serve our members. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications
- 2\-5 years experience technical experience relevant to this role
- Bachelors degree or higher
- High proficiency in SQL
- Experience working in the Azure cloud environment \[Databricks/Azure Synapse Analytics]
- Experience with large and complex extraction, transformation, and loading of data
- Experience with performance tuning and data modeling
- Experience designing data structures to support reporting and analytics
- Working knowledge of Edifecs and MEDCLM tables
- Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server platforms
- Experience using Python/PySpark
- Experience in health care, insurance, or risk\-adjustment
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
- Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi\-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$97,900 \- $133,500 per year
