- Assists and ensures all program activities are ready to be implemented and provides feedback to the manager or coordinator as needed. They also help to promote and uphold safety policies and conduct to ensure safe environments for all.
- Actively engages with caretakers and other stakeholders, and helps with attendance, registration for activities and membership.
- Assist with outreach and recruitment efforts on occasion.
- Helps the coordinator or manager in administrative tasks such as scheduling, data collection, and work orders.
- Actively engages with program participants to understand and report community needs.

- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in program delivery in a community center setting working with elementary to high school youth. Education may be substituted for required experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- CPR and First Aid Certified (or obtained within six months of employment)
- Current Texas State Driver's License
- Ability to organize and supervise program participants in a safe environment
- Ability to enforce Precinct rules and policies in a fair and equitable manner
- Must have the ability to physically manage and support children.
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- You will be required to demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- You must have the ability to take initiative and possess skills for problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Work to create a safe, secure and healthy work environment for fellow employees and program participants.
- Efficient and detail\-oriented with a strong customer/constituent focus.

- Evening Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
- Must be available for occasional weekend work, which may include supporting field trips, special events, and other program activities.
- This position is located at 2020 Solo Street, Houston, TX 77020\.
- This job operates out of the Hester House Community Center in both an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and temperature variations may be encountered.
- This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and copiers.
- Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently and lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

About the Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis
There are four precincts in Harris County. The four elected commissioners, along with an elected county judge, serve as members of Harris County Commissioners Court, the administrative head of the county’s government. Commissioner Rodney Ellis represents the constituents of Precinct One.
With approximately 1\.17 million residents, Harris County Precinct One is a diverse, urban precinct that covers 363 square miles. Precinct One’s multi\-racial, multi\-ethnic population is roughly 33 percent African American, 38 percent Latino, 21 percent Anglo, 6 percent Asian and 2 percent other or multiple races. Precinct One stretches south to Brazoria County and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County. The Precinct’s territory includes a large section of Downtown Houston, including the Downtown Harris County Courthouse Complex, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park and the BBVA Compass Stadium. Other notable landmarks include the 263\-acre NRG Park Complex and the renowned Texas Medical Center. The Precinct is also the higher educational home to Houston Community College, Rice University, Texas Southern University, the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas. Precinct One manages more than 21 parks, 10 community centers, numerous hike\-and\-bike trails, three maintenance service centers and several area offices, all of which provide an array of services to Precinct One residents.
We are looking for a Part\-Time Program Assistant to join or Youth Enrichment team. This role is an integral part of the Programs Division. The Youth Enrichment Assistant supports the Manager of the Youth Enrichment Program by helping plan and prepare engaging programs, services, and resources for youth ages 6–18\. This role involves daily interaction with caretakers and stakeholders, assisting with registration, attendance tracking, and data entry while maintaining a welcoming and energetic environment. The Assistant also helps supervise participants during programs and field trips, always ensuring their safety and well\-being. Additionally, the position offers opportunities for professional growth while contributing to the overall success of the Youth Enrichment Program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
