Minimum Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in medical office administration or healthcare scheduling (e.g., Certified Medical Administrative Assistant).
  • Experience working in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or specialty medical practice.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and pre\-authorization processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare management software.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule medical procedures by communicating with patients, physicians, and clinical staff to confirm availability and procedural requirements.
  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and pre\-authorization status to ensure compliance with healthcare policies and reduce scheduling delays.
  • Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date scheduling records in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other scheduling software.
  • Manage appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling while minimizing disruptions to clinical operations and patient care.
  • Provide timely and clear communication to patients regarding procedure preparation instructions, appointment details, and any necessary follow\-up.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments including nursing, billing, and medical records to ensure seamless procedural coordination.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues proactively to maintain efficient use of clinical resources.
