The Role
We are looking for a sharp, dependable part\-time Business Assistant to become the operational backbone of our office. This is a hybrid role blending accounting and bookkeeping with customer communication, administrative support, and light business development work.It is a great fit for someone who is organized, numbers\-driven, and enjoys variety in their day.This position starts at 4–5 hours per day, mostly remote, with 1–2 days per week in our local office for team meetings and collaborative work sessions. We will work with you to set a consistent weekly schedule that fits your availability. You will also submit a brief check\-in at the start and end of each workday so we stay aligned.
What You Will Do
*Accounting \& Finance*
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Process payroll and track expenses
- Create customer estimates and proposals
- Answer phones and handle inbound customer inquiries with professionalism and warmth
- Assist with customer relationship management and follow\-up
- Support scheduling and general office coordination
- Manage social media postings and basic online presence
- Research local businesses for potential networking and referral partnerships
- Gather pricing on products and materials as needed
- Take on special projects as the business grows
- College students studying accounting, business, or finance
- Professionals advancing in accounting or bookkeeping
- Semi\-retired individuals with a finance or office management background
- Anyone currently working in financial services or office administration
- Strong numbers sense and at least foundational accounting knowledge
- Basic familiarity with accounting or ERP software (QuickBooks, Odoo, or similar)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High integrity, self\-motivation, and the ability to work independently from home
- Willingness to learn our systems and processes (we will train you)
- 4–5 hours per day (part\-time)
- Primarily remote with 1–2 days per week on\-site (Sacramento area)
- Compensation based on experience — please include your rate expectations
- Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
Work within our ERP system (Odoo) or export data to QuickBooks on an ongoing basis. (We will train you on our systems, but comfort with financial software is essential)*
