Job Overview

Our bookkeeper is retiring after 20\+ years of loyal service. Our small family business in Horsham is seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team! This position is mostly to handle all bookkeeping functions for many related businesses, and also to do some personal banking and bookkeeping.

The position requires someone who can work in our office, although some work from home is acceptable.

We can be very flexible regarding hours to meet the applicant's needs and other responsibilities.

Must be proficient in QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. You will be responsible for payroll through a payroll service, annual 1099 and W\-2 filings, and standard reporting, billing, receivables, payables and monthly bank reconciliations.

Our businesses are all related to law and real estate. The work is interesting and challenging, and requires someone who can think and act independently.

Duties

  • Manage day\-to\-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, account reconciliation, and using QuickBooks.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
  • Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of debits \& credits, journal entries, and account analysis following instructions from independent accountants.
  • Provide minimal administrative support such as correspondence and maintaining filing systems.
  • Make governmental filings, as instructed.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business bookkeeping. No problem if you have other current clients.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management.
  • Ability to work independently and to know when to seek assistance
  • Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation tasks involving accounts payable/receivable and bank statements accurately.
  • Experience with payroll processing.

  • Pay: $20\.00 \- $30\.00 per hour
