Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts through meticulous account analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking transactions.
- Perform regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and non\-profit accounting requirements where applicable.
- Lead internal audits related to SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls and assist with external audit preparations.
- Support technical accounting initiatives such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other complex transactions.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including variance analysis, budgeting support, and financial forecasting.
- Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to improve financial processes and implement best practices in financial management.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within public accounting, governmental agencies, or non\-profit organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
- Strong background in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and double\-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, account analysis, and financial report writing.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent financial management tools.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with technical accounting topics including revenue recognition and lease accounting is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with strong attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
