The Advising, Tutoring, and Accessibility Services Departments at Roxbury Community College are merging their resources to create the Learning Studio, a unified center for academic support. This initiative re\-envisions the area as a high\-traffic, student\-centered "one\-stop shop" where professional advisors, tutors, and accessibility staff collaborate to deliver holistic advisement and wrap\-around support designed to meet each student's individual needs. Services are provided both by appointment and on a drop\-in basis, ensuring accessible support for all students. This position will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Accessibility and Title IX Coordinator and also work closely with the Director of Success and Advising.
The Clerk VI serves as the central administrative professional to ensure the efficient operation of this combined Learning Studio. This role manages all front\-line operations and administrative support, including coordinating activities, managing staff calendars, and overseeing the intake and triage of all student appointments and drop\-in requests. This is a critical, full\-time, twelve\-month, in\-person position responsible for maintaining the fast\-paced, student\-centered flow of the entire academic support area. This position will not be eligible for remote work.
Job Responsibilities
- Answers and screens telephone calls, providing routine information regarding the registration and admission processes, capturing contact information from inquiring students for follow up, and directing calls to appropriate staff;
- Directs walk\-ins to appropriate staff members and/or to other College departments
- Assists with generating email correspondence to students for critical dates, programs and updates from Center for Success, Advising and Retention and will assist with responding to emails in center inbox.
- Files materials such as correspondence, educational documents, reports, applications, etc. in accordance with the prescribed procedures;
- Schedules appointments for students with staff through Navigate 360 and assists students with scheduling through Q\-Less.
- Input data into Team Pay, Jenzabar, Maxient and Navigate 360
- Receives and distributes incoming mail, memoranda, packages, etc. to appropriate individuals;
- Assists with orienting student workers to duties and responsibilities of student positions.
- Operates standard and specialized office machines and equipment;
- Maintains files for applicants and students;
- Scanning documents for document imaging and retrieval processes
- Knowledge of the English language including spelling, word meaning and word usage.
- Ability to understand and apply the laws, rules, policies and procedures governing assigned unit activities.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures.

- Applicants must have at least (A) five years of full\-time, or equivalent part\-time, experience in office work, of which (B) at least two years must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
- A diploma for completion of a one\-year, full\-time, or equivalent part\-time, program in a recognized, non\-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.
