Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail\-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our firm which focuses on estate planning, elder law, guardianships, nursing home admission agreement review. Duties
- Assist attorneys with legal case management across diverse practice areas such as estate planning and elder law
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies and document preparation.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including Estate Planning Documents, Guardianship and other Probate filings and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Support litigation activities by preparing exhibits, summarizing depositions, and assisting with trial preparation.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within legal case management software such as Actionstep, word, excel and outlook.
- Coordinate interviews with clients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, answering phones with professional etiquette, and handling clerical tasks like filing and data entry.
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with familiarity in estate planning and elder law.
- Strong knowledge of legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; proficiency in PCLaw is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast\-paced environment.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy.
- Experience with document review processes and familiarity with document management systems like action step.
- Ability to perform detailed legal research on complex topics such as elder law and estate planning.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interviewing clients and witnesses while demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality.
