  • Department History Overview:

    Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now\-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services. Vision:

    To better the lives of children and adults in Harris County. Brief Description Overview:

    Under the supervision of the Community Youth Development (CYD) Manager, this position performs highly responsible administrative and secretarial duties for the Community Youth Development Fiscal Agent Grant Funded Programs and TRIAD Prevention Program. Duties \& Responsibilities:

  • Verifies and completes high volume of data entry for all client registrations forms and monthly summary sheets for CYD subcontractors.
  • Verifies and processes monthly billing statements for all CYD subcontractors.
  • Updates and maintains monthly master client tracking form for subcontractors.
  • Responsible for maintaining CYD subcontractor budgets.
  • Maintains client and subcontractor files.
  • Provides technical assistance for billing and programmatic issues for CYD sites for subcontractors.
  • Orders and maintains program brochures, office supplies and promotional items.
  • Processes contract renewals, amendments and new contracts for all CYD subcontractors.

    Education:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Experience:

  • Minimum two (2\) years’ full time paid work experience as an administrative assistant.
  • Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Licensure:

  • Reliable transportation with a valid Texas driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
  • Knowledge, Skills \& Abilities:

  • Follows written and oral instructions.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and self\-motivated.
  • Must interact with all levels of staff.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Works with limited supervision and independently in a fast\-paced environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Interacts and maintains professional working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.

  • $41,600\.00\-$49,753\.60 (Annually)
