Position Purpose

- Assist recycling operations in data collection and analysis for bale audits
- Assist supervisors in pick counts of staff members
- Conduct waste audits
- Work with drop off area staff assisting customers in offloading materials into proper receptacles
- Work in the drop off area interacting with customers, educating, \& conducting surveys
- Processing scale transactions into department programs, assist scale operators with reports, recordkeeping, and monitoring phones.
- Sorting materials in drop off area to properly dispose or recycle them.
- Assist recycling program in surveys and households counts, record data in spreadsheet formats
- Observing landfill construction
- Assist with gas field collection and maintenance
- Observe RNG plant construction
- Staff a table at various educational events
- Assist in other educational opportunities
- Perform traffic control spotter duties on site as needed.
- Assist recycling program with collection of materials in County Hazardous Waste Collection Program
- Assist supervisors with other project related field tasks as needed
- Data entry and organization of material safety data sheets
- Handles cash and credit card transaction, and balancing daily cash drawer.
- Ability to work courteously with customers, co\-workers, and supervisors
- General site maintenance such as painting, lawn care, or litter picking
- Follows safety rules and guidelines as established by, but not limited to County and/or state/federal law.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance

- Must be 18 years old and enrollment in higher education for the fall semester is preferred.
- Ability to operate a variety of office machines including personal computers with beginning knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must provide own steel toed shoes.

- Ability to perform tasks on a regular basis which require frequent standing, reaching, bending, squatting and carrying
- Ability to work in a safe manner
The Seasonal Solid Waste \& Recycling Field/Scale Assistant will be assisting the department in administrative tasks, data collection, educational strategies, and weigh scale functions. May be assigned to either the Landfill Division or Recycling Division of the Recycling \& Solid Waste Department based on daily operational support needs.
HOURS: Estimated start is beginning/middle of May 2026 and goes through the summer.
Monday \- Friday 7:00am \- 3:30pm; Saturday 7:00am \- 12:30pm (on a rotational basis). There is possibilities of overtime
