What You’ll Do:
As a Corrosion Technician, you'll be the boots\-on\-the\-ground expert in corrosion control, performing critical assessments and system maintenance to ensure pipeline safety and regulatory compliance. You’ll work independently or with a team to gather high\-quality data, solve problems on\-site, and maintain pipeline integrity across various terrains and weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Surveys \& Testing
- Conduct annual surveys and bi\-monthly reads of cathodic protection systems.
- Perform Closed Interval Surveys (CIS) to assess coating effectiveness and corrosion control.
- Execute interference testing and mitigation procedures.
- Document and analyze pipe\-to\-soil potential readings and other field data.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in cathodic protection systems, including rectifier repair, calibration, and maintenance.
- Assist in designing and implementing CP system enhancements.
- Install, configure, and maintain Remote Monitoring Units (RMUs) and associated telemetry systems.
- Perform site checks and ensure proper signal and data transmission.
- Accurately record field data and maintain detailed records in company software and customer databases.
- Generate reports for internal use and client delivery—timely and with precision.
- Minimum 2 years of hands\-on corrosion technician experience, including CP system testing, survey work, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with CIS, interference testing, and rectifier maintenance.
- Working knowledge of pipeline safety regulations (DOT/PHMSA standards).
- Proficient in using CP instruments, GPS mapping tools, and RMU configuration software.
- Must be willing to travel nationwide on a rotational basis (per diem, lodging, and travel covered).
- Capable of working in various outdoor conditions and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.
