About Rivercourse Counseling
We're a warm, depth\-oriented mental health practice based in Salt Lake City, serving kids, teens, and adults in\-person and via telehealth throughout Utah. We specialize in working with neurodivergent clients, people with ADHD, autism, anxiety.
Our clinical approach is rooted in both depth psychology and evidence\-based practice, we don't think these are in tension. We believe healing happens when people connect with what's underneath the surface, and we use the best tools science has to offer to help them get there. We integrate somatic therapy, dream interpretation, Jungian\-informed work, ERP, CBT, nervous system regulation, and geek therapy into individualized care that actually fits the person sitting across from us.
Therapist wellbeing isn't an afterthought here, it's baked into how we operate. We keep caseloads sustainable, we talk about burnout openly, and we build a culture where the humans doing this work feel as cared for as the clients they serve.
The Therapist Launchpad: For New \& Early\-Career Therapists
If you're a new graduate or associate\-level clinician, we built the Launchpad with you in mind. Starting out in this field is hard , you're expected to carry a caseload before you feel fully ready, navigate licensure logistics, and figure out your clinical identity all at once. We want to make that easier.
The Launchpad includes:
- Structured individual supervision with a licensed supervisor experienced in neurodivergent and depth\-oriented work
- Group supervision and peer consultation
- A graduated caseload ramp\-up so you're not thrown into the deep end on day one
- Ongoing training in our core clinical modalities: somatic therapy, depth psychology, ADHD/neurodivergent\-affirming care, and geek therapy
- Dedicated training pathway in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety and OCD, including support accessing formal ERP training and consultation
- Support through the licensure process
- Regular check\-ins focused on your clinical growth, not just productivity metrics
- A culture where asking questions and saying "I don't know" is always welcome

- Apply depth psychology principles alongside evidence\-based approaches including ERP, somatic work, and nervous system\-informed interventions
- Maintain timely and thoughtful clinical documentation in our therapy portal
- Participate in individual supervision, group consultation, and ongoing clinical training
- Contribute to a practice culture that is curious, warm, and genuinely human
- Carry a hybrid caseload of in\-person (Salt Lake City) and telehealth clients across Utah
- Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or related field
- Active Utah licensure or associate license
- Genuine respect and curiosity for neurodivergent ways of being, not just tolerance, but real appreciation
- Strong relational skills and the ability to build trust with clients who may have had hard experiences with other providers
- Comfort with electronic health records and telehealth platforms
- Ability to pass a background check
- Are drawn to depth psychology, Jungian theory, dream work, or the idea that symptoms are often messengers worth listening to
- Get genuinely excited about working with ADHD, autism, OCD, and/or anxiety,
- Are interested in training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) : we strongly prefer a clinician who wants to develop expertise in ERP and evidence\-based OCD treatment (training support provided)
- Believe the body and nervous system are as important to healing as the mind
- Want to keep learning and aren't afraid to sit with the unknown
- Are personally committed to your own growth and self\-awareness (we all are here)
- Sustainable caseloads, we'd rather you do fewer sessions well than burn out trying to hit numbers
- Regular supervision and consultation built into your schedule, not squeezed in around it
- Open conversations about vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and the emotional weight of this work
- A team that actually checks in on each other
- Flexibility in scheduling so you can protect your own energy outside of work
- A culture where your clinical intuition and professional boundaries are respected
- We mean it when we say the people doing this work matter as much as the people receiving it
- Neurodivergent\-affirming practice with a clear clinical identity , you'll know what we stand for
- Depth psychology and evidence\-based practice , we hold both, and we don't make you choose
- ERP training pathway for anxiety and OCD treatment, we invest in your clinical development
- The Therapist Launchpad: structured support, supervision, and training for new clinicians
- Unique specialties you won't find at most practices: dream interpretation, somatic therapy, geek therapy, therapy dogs
- Small, collaborative team
- Hybrid in\-person and telehealth caseload with flexible scheduling
- Full\-time position (caseload built gradually for new clinicians)
- Competitive compensation — fee split commensurate with experience and licensure level
- In\-person sessions in Salt Lake City; telehealth available across Utah
- Supervision hours provided and documented for associate\-level clinicians pursuing licensure
- Flexible schedule
- Paid time off
