Semaisim Immigration Law Office, PLLC, is a growing immigration firm in Falls Church, VA, committed to helping clients navigate the legal system with clarity, respect, and compassion. We’re currently hiring a bilingual immigration paralegal fluent in Spanish and English to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of immigration or legal experience, especially individuals passionate about immigration law, social justice, and supporting underserved communities.
About the Role
You'll play a vital role in supporting attorneys and clients throughout the immigration process. We're a small, collaborative office where each team member is valued. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including first\-generation professionals and those with personal or family immigration experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist clients in person and by phone (Spanish and English)
- Translate legal documents between Spanish and English
- Draft immigration forms (e.g., I\-130, I\-485, I\-765, asylum filings, motions)
- Schedule appointments and manage the attorney’s calendar
- Draft client correspondence and maintain organized digital/physical files
- Perform general office tasks (data entry, supply ordering, light cleaning)
- Manage basic office errands as needed
- Assist with legal research and case preparation under attorney supervision
- Family\-based immigration petitions
- Green card renewals and work permits
- Asylum applications
- Removal defense and court filings
- Naturalization and DACA renewals
- Any additional language is a plus (e.g., Arabic, French, Hindi, Pashto)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Paralegal certificate or coursework is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with online legal platforms
- Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail
- Professional demeanor with ability to handle sensitive client matters
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (rarely required)
- In\-person role at our Falls Church office (6066 Leesburg Pike)
