Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will oversee the end\-to\-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete payroll cycle using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate processing of employee wages, bonuses, deductions, and benefits
  • Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries to maintain financial accuracy
  • Perform data entry and validation within payroll and HRIS platforms to guarantee precise recordkeeping and compliance
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and execute account reconciliations for general ledger accuracy
  • Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks while ensuring proper documentation and compliance
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams on tax filings, governmental reporting, and non\-profit accounting requirements when applicable
  • Conduct thorough audits of payroll reports, analyze discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly to uphold data integrity
  • Support bookkeeping activities such as double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting processes related to payroll expenses
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos or Ceridian is essential
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including debits \& credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping
  • Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing, benefits administration, tax compliance, and governmental reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with HRIS systems is highly desirable
  • Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy (10 key typing skills preferred)
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data with strong attention to detail and problem\-solving skills
  • Knowledge of non\-profit or governmental accounting standards is a plus
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments in a fast\-paced environment
