This individual will own and manage administrative and support details necessary to ensure the accurate and timely processing of new business and renewals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist underwriters and peers in tasks necessary to help the team meet service standards.
- Preparation of quote materials. Read and interpret documents such as plan of benefits, bid specifications, claim reports, and procedural manuals.
- Request any missing information from the Sales or Brokers/Producers, as needed.
- Review incoming correspondence and handle a much as possible before passing up to the Underwriter.
- Assist in the implementation of new and renewal business
- Provide written responses as part of the process for completing formal Request for Proposals (RFP)
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all paperwork required of his / her position
- Must be able to communicate with Sales/Account Management staff, Agents/Brokers, Clients, and vendors

Qualifications:
● Home office with access to secure internet. Position requires handling confidential client information. Telecommute stipend available.
● Minimum 2 years Health insurance experience required, Underwriting assistant experience preferred.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including experience in Excel. Strong computer literacy for email and data entry required.
● Highly organized and detail oriented.
● Able to work and adjust priorities in a fast paced environment.
● High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
