Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. Responsibilities
- Process payroll using various payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain detailed records of employee hours, wages, bonuses, deductions, benefits administration, and tax information through data entry and transaction processing.
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly by performing general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and journal entries to ensure financial accuracy.
- Administer employee benefits programs including retirement plans, health insurance contributions, and other fringe benefits while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses; process vendor payments for payroll taxes and benefits providers.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing tax filings and maintaining up\-to\-date knowledge of payroll\-related legislation.
- Collaborate with HRIS systems such as Workday or PeopleSoft to update employee information and facilitate seamless data integration across departments.
- Conduct account reconciliation activities involving debits \& credits, double\-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting to ensure financial integrity.
- Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports for audits or regulatory agencies as needed.
- Assist with non\-profit or governmental accounting procedures if applicable; maintain accurate records for audit readiness.
- Perform analysis on payroll data to identify discrepancies or trends; prepare reports for management review.
- Support human resources functions including onboarding new employees, benefits administration, and maintaining compliance with HR policies.
- Proven experience in payroll management using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro or similar software solutions.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, debits \& credits, and double\-entry bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing including tax experience and benefits administration.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing payroll taxes and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks or other financial management tools is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately at a high volume (10 key typing skills).
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail in reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
