School Based Health Receptionist

The School Based Health Receptionist is responsible for answering phone calls, registering patients, and collecting demographic information. This role also involves updating insurance details, scheduling appointments, gathering documentation, and securing consent forms.
In addition, the School Based Health Receptionist is tasked with maintaining full patient schedules, which may include working with patient lists and conducting outreach efforts as needed. The position requires proficiency in various programs (Electronic Medical and Dental Records, Ticket Health, DocuSign, and virtual platforms). The receptionist will also be responsible for rooming patients for virtual visits, assisting with troubleshooting technical difficulties, and ensuring smooth virtual visit operations. The role may require covering other sites, or if designated to float, working hours across multiple locations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative support role, ideally in a school or educational setting.
- Experience handling phone systems, scheduling appointments, and managing office operations preferred.
- Experience working with children or in a school environment is an asset.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a busy front desk.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to work with office equipment such as phones, printers, and copiers.
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and record\-keeping practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly demeanor.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on the school location (for transportation purposes).
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast\-paced, dynamic setting, often interacting with students, parents, and staff.
