Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Bilingual Legal Assistant fluent in Portuguese or Spanish and English to join our immigration law office. This is an in\-person position and offers an exciting opportunity to provide critical administrative support in a fast\-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will assist with managing client cases, facilitating communication, and ensuring smooth day\-to\-day operations. Prior legal experience is preferred but not required—what matters most is attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to immigration attorney, including document preparation, filing, and data entry.
- Manage client case files, ensuring accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
- Assist with intake processes, client communications, and scheduling appointments.
- Prepare and organize immigration applications, supporting documents, and petitions.
- Coordinate with clients and team, ensuring clear communication in Portuguese or Spanish and English.
- Support attorney in case management, including document collection, tracking case progress, and ensuring timely submission of applications.
- Exhibit professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Native\-level fluency in Portuguese or Spanish and fluency in English is required.
- Prior experience in a legal setting or administrative work is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Portuguese/Spanish.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information professionally.
- Comfortable working in a fast\-paced environment and collaborating with a team.
- Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, email, calendar management); experience with document management systems is a plus.
