DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Legal Assistant 1, you will perform varied legal clerical work in the Order Entry Section of the PUC’s Secretary’s Bureau, requiring typing skills to process a variety of documents. You will review and analyze Orders, Secretarial letters, and Initial and Recommended Decisions to determine the necessary action that must be taken for proceedings.
As a team member, you will make sure documents are in the correct format, proper grammar, and have accurate information. There will be opportunities to exercise independent judgment when reviewing requests, determining proper service, action that is needed, and distributing required documents.
This professional communicates with staff, attorneys, utilities, and consumers as needed. Work also involves retrieving, searching, and updating case files for accuracy. Workflow varies in quantity and must be completed on a timely basis to provide effective information for commission use. Specifically, orders must be served timely to meet statutory requirements. * Telework: Part\-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high\-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

- Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
