We are a small trucking company located in the township of Watertown, WI. We have been in business for over 25 years and are looking for a long\-term employee to become part of our team. This position will be monitoring truck drivers’ locations and their daily paperwork. Confirming pickup and delivery of loads, tracking mileage and fuel usage, keeping annual truck inspection reports and equipment maintenance record, and scheduled drug testing.

We are looking for an Administrative Accounting Assistant who has a minimum of 2 years’ accounting education and/or experience, able to produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets and maintain the chart of accounts. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and estimates, utilizing QuickBooks online accounting program.

We also provide lawn care, snowplow and asphalt services to the surrounding community, as well as a U\-Haul Dealership; training will be provided.

  • Salary is based on experience.
  • First Shift Part\-time Position: We are open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This position is part\-time averaging 25\-30 hours a week, with potential for additional hours during busy times. The applicant must be able to work Monday through Friday during the hours of operation, with occasional on\-call Saturday.

  • Work location: In person. Not a remote position.
  • Duties:

  • Dispatching semis, communicating with brokers, monitoring drivers and their loads, coordinating pick up and deliveries and handling the billable paperwork daily. Utilizing DAT boards and brokers software. Familiar with GPS and mapping.
  • Monitoring truck driver LOGS and ELDS. Currently using Motive software.
  • Lawn care, snowplow, asphalt services monitored and billed in QuickBooks. Assisting in U\-Haul rentals and checking in equipment upon return.
  • QuickBooks: perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, estimates, sales tax, profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and chart of accounts.
  • Working with Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT), IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) and IRP (International Registration Plan).
  • Human Resources responsibilities by assisting in hiring, firing, personnel records and calculating payroll. Advertise positions on Indeed and Facebook.
  • Maintain insurance records, vehicle inspections, general filing system, processing mail and monitoring emails.
  • Customer service and marketing include Facebook, Canva, local radio stations and newspapers.
  • Experienced with Gmail, MS Word and Excel. Experience using Cricut is beneficial.
  • Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the trucking industry is preferred. As stated previously, if you’re intrigued to learn about a new industry, training will be provided.
  • Knowledge with lawn care, snowplow and asphalt is beneficial.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ accounting education and/or experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), Gmail, and Facebook.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to multi\-task, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, data entry skills, and customer services skills.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle for work.
  • We are a drug\-free work environment and required to test for Department of Transportation.
  • No Firearms are permitted on the premises.
  • Experience:

  • Accounting: 2 years (Required)
  • Microsoft Office: 2 years (Required)
  • Trucking Industry: 2 years. (Training will be provided if you meet the other qualifications.)
