We are looking for a detail\-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the daily financial operations of our dynamic furniture retail business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and will assist with bookkeeping, invoice processing, reconciliations, and general financial administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Process sales and purchase invoices, credit notes, and refunds
- Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date ledgers and journals
- Monitor and report on accounts receivable and payables
- Assist with stock costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis
- Support month\-end and year\-end close processes
- Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding payment queries
- File and maintain financial documentation in line with compliance standards
- Assist the finance team with ad\-hoc accounting and administrative tasks
- Proven experience in an accounting or finance assistant role (retail experience is a plus)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Financial Management
- 3 years or more Accounting / Bookkeeping experience
- Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge on Microsoft Office
