Summary: We are seeking a highly specialized, results\-driven Senior Food Safety \& Quality Assurance Manager \- Dining \& Refreshments to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across dining and refreshment operations. This role requires deep regulatory expertise, hands\-on leadership, and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable, and sustainable programs.

Responsibilities:

Food Safety \& Quality Systems

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety and quality assurance programs across multi\-site dining and refreshment operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including FDA (FSMA, GMPs, recalls, labeling), HACCP, SQF, DOT, NFPA, OSHA, and GMPs.
  • Lead the development, validation, and optimization of HACCP plans, prerequisite programs (PRPs), sanitation programs, allergen control plans, and environmental monitoring programs where applicable.
  • Maintain robust documentation control, versioning, and recordkeeping systems to support FDA, SQF, and GMP compliance, including change control and regulatory reviews.
  • Audits, Risk Management \& Compliance

  • Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, third\-party assessments, and mock recalls.
  • Lead regulatory due diligence, risk assessments, gap analyses, CAPA development, remediation activities, and effectiveness verification through revalidation and follow\-up audits.
  • Oversee recall readiness, crisis management protocols, mock recalls, and business continuity planning.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements (FDA, OSHA, DOT, NFPA) and translate updates into actionable program enhancements.
  • Incident Response \& Continuous Improvement

  • Lead food safety and occupational safety incident investigations, including root\-cause analysis, containment, corrective and preventive actions, and verification activities.
  • Promote a proactive food safety and workplace safety culture through continuous improvement initiatives and cross\-functional engagement.
  • Training \& Learning Management

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain food safety and regulatory training programs using LMS platforms and live training formats.
  • Create training curricula, assessments, certification tracking, and competency evaluations.
  • Administer LMS systems and analyze training data to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
  • Supplier Quality Management

  • Oversee supplier quality programs, including vendor qualification, performance monitoring, audits, corrective actions, and supplier scorecards.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure supplier compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Data Analysis, Reporting \& Technology

  • Analyze data from audits, inspections, testing, supplier performance, and QA metrics to identify trends and risks.
  • Produce executive\-level dashboards, KPIs, and summary reports to support leadership decision\-making.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project, and Salesforce (or similar CRM/QA systems) for project planning, data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Cross\-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, R\&D, Logistics, Legal, and Customer Experience teams to embed food safety and quality across product design, sourcing, and service delivery.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree and/or professional certifications preferred.
  • Experience within the dining and refreshment sector (casual dining, quick\-service, catering, events, or hospitality).
  • Lead Auditor certifications (ISO 22000, HACCP, SQF) or extensive internal auditing experience.
  • Strong supplier quality management and vendor qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of sanitation validation, environmental monitoring, and comprehensive allergen control programs.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and QA data integration beyond Salesforce.
  • Experience supporting complex supply chains, international operations, or multi\-brand portfolios.
  • Demonstrated, hands\-on experience with FDA, HACCP, SQF, DOT, NFPA, OSHA, and GMP requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret regulations and apply them to complex, multi\-site operations.
  • Advanced data analysis skills with the ability to translate findings into executive\-ready insights.
  • Certifications (Required or In Progress)

  • SQF Practitioner certification or equivalent (internal auditor experience preferred)
  • HACCP certification with demonstrated experience developing and managing HACCP plans across multiple SKUs or facilities
  • Food allergen management certification or demonstrated allergen control program experience
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations (FSMA, recalls, GMPs)
  • Practical OSHA experience in foodservice or beverage environments
  • DOT regulatory knowledge, preferred
  • NFPA standards familiarity related to hazardous material storage and handling
  • GMP experience
  • Additional certifications such as CHFP, CQA, CSCP, or ISO 22000 Lead Auditor are highly desirable

  • Travel \& Work Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 75%, including frequent travel and adaptation to changing time zones and site environments.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends based on project timelines and regulatory needs.
