The DOJ, Office of School Safety (OSS) is currently seeking two talented professionals as Justice Program Associate – Entry or Senior to serve as a Resource Center Analyst – Entry or Senior within the OSS Resource Center. The OSS Resource Center provides Wisconsin K\-12 schools, law enforcement agencies and communities with access to evidence based, supportive resources to keep schools safe and prevent harm. OSS offers supportive school safety resources including a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week confidential reporting tip\-line, SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT Wisconsin (SUSO); Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management protocols, training, consultation and support; Crisis Response and Recovery support for any school impacted by a crisis event; and school safety best practice guidance to schools as they meaningfully comply with their Wis. Stat. § 118\.07 required school safety submissions and grant management. The OSS Resource Center serves as an entry point to access these services and supports. This recruitment will be used to fill two current positions as well as any future vacancies that arise over the next six months. Position Summary -------------------- This position will be headquartered at the Risser Justice Center located at 17 West Main Street, located in the award\-winning city of Madison. Justice Program Associate\-Entry level: This position will work under the close progressing to limited supervision of the Office of School Safety Justice Program Supervisor to provide students with immediate, accessible confidential adult support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position supports the Office of School Safety (OSS), Wisconsin Department of Justice and its commitment to serving our school partners statewide. This position will function as an entry\-level Justice Program Associate. The duties will include learning to evaluate and assess all incoming school threats and information requests; communicating via telephone, computer, e\-mail and web\-application; provision of technical assistance on threat evaluation and the Records Management Systems (RMS); dissemination of resources, materials, training, and/or emergency assistance depending on the context. The scope and complexity of work include responding to a wide range of requests from diverse stakeholders such as school staff, children, parents, law enforcement, and community partners. This position will exercise independent judgment and decision\-making when responding to requests for assistance based on training, knowledge, experience, and written protocols. Salary Information ---------------------- The Justice Program Associate – Entry level position is in pay schedule 02 and pay range 11\. The starting base wage will be $25\.04/hour. The Justice Program Associate – Senior level position is in pay schedule 02 and pay range 12\. The starting base wage will be $27\.08/hour. The starting level will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications at time of hire. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12\-month probationary period may be required. Job Details --------------- The OSS Resource Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. These positions will start on second shift which runs from 3:00PM to 11PM, with a weekend rotation required. This position is eligible to work 100% remotely from within the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access will be required to meet needs of remote work. This position will be required to report to the headquartered on the first day of work to attend mandatory orientation and may be required to attend occasional in person meetings and/or training Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement. The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I\-9\. Qualifications ------------------ Please clearly address the following in your resume and/or letter of qualifications: A minimally qualified applicant must have experience with the following: Providing customer service by responding to complex questions and/or problem\-solving issues in a variety of formats (i.e. over the phone, email, and/or in\-person/virtual meetings) Working with data and information of serious and sensitive nature while taking measures to maintain confidentiality. Using Microsoft Suite products and other computer software to perform tasks (e.g., document creation, data entry, database management, etc.). In addition to the minimum qualifications, a well\-qualified applicant will also have professional experience in any of the following: Working in partnership with Wisconsin K\-12 schools and/or within the criminal justice environment. Triaging external customer or client needs or complaints based on importance. Providing customer service and account maintenance to online account users. Analyzing potential threats or other concerns on digital and/or social media platforms. * Supporting school age youth impacted by trauma, online safety concerns, social stressors, and/or mental health concerns.
