Field operations assistant (custom home construction)

Field Operations Assistant – Custom Home Construction Ghiloni Custom Builders is looking for a dependable, motivated individual to join our team as a Field Operations Assistant. This is a hands\-on position supporting the day\-to\-day operations of our custom home projects throughout Central Ohio. You will work directly with our project leadership, spend the majority of your time in the field, and get exposure to nearly every part of building a high\-end custom home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in construction and wants to learn how custom homes are managed and built. Extensive construction experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person. What You’ll Do Your days will vary and may include: Traveling between active jobsites Driving company personnel between projects and appointments Picking up and delivering materials, tools, plans, and samples Checking jobsites and helping keep them organized Taking jobsite photos and documenting progress Helping with daily logs and basic project documentation Meeting deliveries and helping coordinate access to jobsites Checking that work is ready for upcoming subcontractors Helping with punch\-list and quality\-control items Communicating information between the office, field, subcontractors, and suppliers Handling miscellaneous jobsite tasks as they arise Learning to read construction plans and understand construction sequencing Gradually taking on more project\-management and field\-supervision responsibilities as your knowledge grows Who We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Extremely dependable and punctual Organized and able to keep track of multiple tasks Comfortable spending most of the day driving and working on active construction sites Willing to learn and ask questions Able to communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, suppliers, and coworkers Comfortable using a smartphone and basic technology Able to take direction and follow through without being constantly reminded Willing to jump in and help wherever needed Interested in learning residential construction In possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record Construction experience is helpful, but attitude, reliability, common sense, and willingness to learn are more important.
