The person in this position will drive business growth through development and sales. Responsibilities include sales, client relationship management, development, circulation, and administrative coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, personable, and comfortable balancing external relationship\-building with internal operational responsibilities. Sales \& Development Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities and clients. Prospect, sell, and maintain print and digital advertising sales. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers and donors. Conduct outreach through phone, email, networking, referrals, and other channels. Schedule and participate in client and donor meetings and presentations. Prepare proposals, quotes, presentations, and other sales materials. Maintain accurate customer and prospect information in CRM or tracking systems. Monitor sales opportunities and provide regular pipeline updates. Research market trends, competitors, and potential target markets. Represent the company professionally at networking and community events. Work with leadership and internal teams to ensure customer needs are communicated and addressed. Help identify opportunities to increase revenue, customer retention, and overall business growth. Administrative Assistant Responsibilities Oversee the daily operation and organization of the office. Manage office supplies, equipment, vendors, and service providers. Assist with company events. Support circulation with post office and subscriber needs. Support leadership team with administrative projects as needed. Key Qualifications 2–5\+ years of experience in sales, business development, or fundraising. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship\-building skills. Excellent organizational and time\-management skills. Comfortable with both independent and collaborative work. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Google Workspace and CRM or other business software. Strong problem\-solving skills and a proactive approach. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment. It features community profiles, business updates, and comprehensive event calendars both in print and online. The Ann Arbor Observer office is hybrid; weekly in\-person meetings and 50% remote work.
