Intern Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant (Walnut Creek) Compensation: Hourly Employment type: Full\-Time preferred, Part time OK JOB DESCRIPTION \ Successful medical office in Walnut Creek is hiring for the position of a full\-time intern medical scribe with cross\-training for front and back\-office medical assistance. \ \ It is a great opportunity for newly graduated college students interested in a career in healthcare, specifically those with the intention of attending medical, physician assistant, or nursing school. Please note: This is NOT a summer job. Prefer minimum 3 days/week, 12\+ months. Great if you are planning to take 1\-2 gap years. \ \ We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic, confident, well\-spoken individual with an interest in Gastroenterology, Cancer screening and prevention, Fatty liver and NASH, obesity, women's health and anti\-aging. Scribe experience and fluency in Spanish is a plus. \ \ Scribe/MA will assist the doctor in scribing encounter notes during the office visit using the EHR; transcribe patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.; perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned; identify mistakes, inconsistencies in medical documentation and make appropriate corrections. Candidates would be expected to type quickly and accurately, be able to stand, walk and follow a physician. Candidates will have opportunity to be trained to perform state of art Liver FibroScan (Elastography), as well as assisting MD for GI procedures and post procedure recovery. This is an hourly, full\-time or part\-time position.
