Are you a hands\-on leader who enjoys developing people, creating a welcoming customer experience, and keeping a fast\-paced store running smoothly? The Local Market is looking for a dependable, motivated Convenience Store Manager to lead daily operations and build a team that takes pride in serving our customers. As Store Manager, you’ll set the tone for your location. You’ll coach and support employees, oversee store and deli operations, maintain inventory and financial controls, and ensure the store is clean, stocked, safe, and ready to serve our community. This is an active leadership role for someone who is comfortable working alongside their team and stepping in wherever needed. What You’ll Be Doing Lead and Develop Your Team Hire, train, coach, motivate, and support store employees. Develop and actively train the Assistant Store Manager to help build strong store leadership. Create employee schedules that provide excellent customer service while remaining within the store’s labor budget. Maintain an active candidate pipeline by regularly interviewing qualified applicants. Clearly communicate responsibilities and performance expectations to employees. Review and update daily duty sheets to ensure store responsibilities are completed. Assign tasks based on operational priorities and individual employee strengths. Provide regular feedback, address performance concerns, and recognize employees for strong performance. Lead by example and work alongside the team when operational support is needed. Remain available to respond to store emergencies and urgent operational concerns. Create a Great Customer Experience Welcome customers and ensure they receive friendly, respectful, and efficient service. Set the expectation that every customer is thanked and invited to return. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Coach employees on suggestive selling, current promotions, and sales specials. Build a store environment where customers feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated. Oversee Store and Deli Operations Learn and oversee deli operations, including staffing, training, food\-service standards, and daily execution. Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked, and customer\-ready sales floor. Ensure shelves, coolers, freezers, beverage stations, restrooms, exterior areas, and fuel islands meet company standards. Coordinate daily store activities and ensure employees understand what is expected during each shift. Oversee vendor deliveries, verify case counts against invoices, and follow company procedures for receiving products and processing returns. Maintain organized backroom and storage areas. Ensure promotional displays, signage, and product endcaps are properly set and maintained. Follow and enforce company policies related to safety, security, sanitation, attendance, customer service, and store operations. Manage Inventory and Financial Controls Complete required daily and weekly reports, paperwork, vendor invoices, price changes, and fuel\-price updates accurately and on time. Maintain accurate inventory levels and complete product ordering based on store needs. Protect store assets through strong cash\-handling and register\-control practices. Review and investigate cash shortages, suspicious transactions, voids, refunds, error corrections, and other register activity. Maintain proficiency with the point\-of\-sale system, registers, safes, and other store equipment. Ensure all age\-restricted sales—including alcohol, tobacco, and lottery products—follow applicable laws and company policies. Maintain an organized and efficient office and paperwork system. Communicate and Protect the Business Maintain consistent, professional communication with employees, district leadership, and the corporate office. Promptly report shoplifting, customer or employee injuries, security concerns, and other significant store incidents. Maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment when handling employee, customer, and company information. Participate in regular performance reviews and demonstrate continued proficiency in store operations, employee leadership, cash controls, attendance management, and company procedures. Provides excellent customer service and remains professional in challenging situations. Is organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment. Is comfortable overseeing retail, food\-service, inventory, staffing, and cash\-handling responsibilities. Can learn and confidently operate point\-of\-sale and back\-office systems. Uses good judgment when handling operational, employee, customer, and security matters. Is willing and able to respond to urgent store needs and operational emergencies. The ability to successfully complete a background check and oral\-swab drug screen as a condition of employment. Physical Requirements The physical requirements described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position. The Store Manager must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of approximately 8–10 hours. Regularly bend, reach, stoop, twist, squat, and climb step stools or ladders. Lift, carry, push, or pull merchandise, deliveries, supplies, trash, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Stock shelves, coolers, and freezers and work inside walk\-in coolers with temperatures as low as approximately 30°F. Sweep and mop floors; clean restrooms, beverage stations, equipment, and customer areas; and remove trash to exterior containers. Maintain the exterior of the store, including fuel islands and parking areas. Build merchandise displays, construct product endcaps, and hang promotional signage. Operate the register, handle cash drops, manage coin inventory, and complete back\-office paperwork. Receive vendor deliveries, verify merchandise and case counts, and organize backroom storage areas. Assist employees with any store or deli responsibility when operationally necessary.
