PART TIME- IT Support Technician/Specialist - Grand Rapids Area

We are seeking a part\-time, motivated individual with an interest and aptitude for information technology to aid in providing guided support to our clients in Grand Rapids / Muskegon area. This position will resemble IT\-Admin on site at an organization where under a lead from higher tier Tech Support you will work on performing day\-to\-day IT tasks with some longer term\-projects as well. You will need to be able to get on\-site between different clients, so reliable transportation is a must. This is a part\-time, contractor position, you will be issued 1099 for Tax purposes. This is NOT remote only position and requires hands on work on site. Please DO NOT apply if you are looking for remote ONLY work. There are some additional client sites in St Joseph, Benton Harbor, and surrounding areas, so it's important you have reliable transportation as you will have the opportunity to aid there as well. We do pay mileage above a certain distance. Responsibilities: Hands\-on IT work like pulling network cables, connecting various devices, hanging wireless access points, speakers, VoIP Phones, etc adding things to network racks, etc. Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software on\-site under the direction of our senior support staff. Resolve issues for clients in person, or remotely. Printing issues, software issues etc. Track customer issues and resolutions in our helpdesk or CRM software. Resolve issues on\-site under the direction of our head office support staff. Firewall, filtering and network management. Some dedicated on\-site hours at a particular client to deal with needs as they come up. Qualifications: Previous experience in IT, customer service, or other related fields. Ability to build rapport with clients. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Positive and professional demeanor. Ability to provide hands\-on support under the direction of head office support staff. Ability to respond to incidents on\-site during business hours. Ability to work with various network and RMM tools. Ability to pass a background check if necessary. Ability to focus, pay attention and be diligent at finishing up tasks. Fitness enough to climb a ladder which can hold under 300lb for working with items in ceilings and roofs. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
