Dental Administrative Assistant Grand Junction Periodontics \| Grand Junction, Colorado Full\-Time Grand Junction Periodontics is looking for an experienced, professional, and personable Dental Administrative Assistant to join our team. Previous experience working in a dental office is required. This position is not an entry\-level administrative position, and candidates without dental industry experience will not be considered. We are seeking someone who understands the pace and workflow of a dental practice and can confidently communicate with patients, dental professionals, referring offices, and our clinical team. Position Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally and efficiently. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, consultations, procedures, and follow\-up visits. Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience. Assist with treatment coordination and communicate treatment recommendations, scheduling, and financial information to patients. Review and explain treatment estimates and financial arrangements. Collect and accurately post patient payments. Assist with insurance verification, claims, estimates, and account follow\-up. Coordinate incoming dental referrals and obtain necessary patient records from referring offices. Request and track radiographs, periodontal charting, referral forms, and clinical notes. Communicate professionally with general dental offices and other healthcare providers. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Scan, upload, organize, and route patient records appropriately. Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Assist with patient check\-in and check\-out. Confirm appointments and assist with rescheduling and cancellation management. Maintain accurate notes and documentation within the practice management system. Assist the doctor and clinical team with administrative needs. Help maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming front\-office environment. Perform general administrative duties as needed to support the practice. Required Qualifications Dental office experience is REQUIRED Candidates should have: Previous experience working in a dental office or dental specialty practice. Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and treatment plans. Understanding of dental office workflow and patient scheduling. Experience with dental insurance and/or patient financial accounts. Knowledge of HIPAA and appropriate handling of protected health information. Strong computer and data\-entry skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional and confident telephone etiquette. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy dental environment. Professional, dependable, and team\-oriented attitude. Ability to communicate comfortably and compassionately with patients. Preferred Experience The following experience is preferred but not required: Periodontal or other dental specialty experience Treatment coordination Surgical scheduling Dental insurance claims Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software Referral coordination Dental financial arrangements Experience communicating with referring dental offices What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that a dental administrative position is about much more than answering phones and scheduling appointments. Our Administrative Assistant is an important part of the patient's experience and the daily operation of our practice. The right person will be comfortable discussing treatment, scheduling procedures, reviewing financial expectations, coordinating records, and communicating with both patients and referring dental offices.
