About the Role We are seeking a tech savy, motivated and detail\-oriented HR and Payroll Associate to support our Human Resources department and payroll function by helping bring it to full automation. This role will support a wide range of HR operational activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and compliance. Hearth's payroll provider is Proliant ReadyPay. This system is easy to use and has a robust HRIS component which Hearth would like its HR department to utilize. Automating HR and payroll will be an important project for this position. The HR and Payroll Associate serves as a key point of contact for employees and ensures the accurate, timely, and confidential handling of employee data and HR processes. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, people\-focused, and looking to grow within the HR field. Pay Range: $60,000 \- $ 70,000 Per year Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in Massachusetts. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Duties and Responsibilities: HR Operations \& Employee Support Provide day\-to\-day administrative support to the HR department and HR Manager. Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR\-related questions. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and general employment matters. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times. Employee Records \& HRIS Management Maintain and organize employee personnel records in digital and paper files. Update HRIS systems with employee data changes, including hires, terminations, leaves, certifications, and training records. Ensure employee files are accurate, complete, and compliant with organizational and legal requirements. Support employee lifecycle documentation from onboarding through offboarding. Recruitment \& Onboarding Support recruitment processes including job postings, communication with applicants. Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation. Coordinate onboarding activities including orientations, background checks, and I\-9 verification and new hire orientation. Partner with hiring managers to improve recruitment efficiency and candidate experience. Support workforce planning activities and hiring needs analysis Maintain onboarding trackers and ensure completion of required pre\-employment steps. Leave Administration \& Compliance Track and maintain employee leave records including MLOA, PFML, FMLA, and other approved leaves. Ensure accurate and up\-to\-date leave documentation and tracking systems. Support compliance efforts by maintaining audit\-ready employee records. Assist with internal and external audits and HR documentation requests. Training \& Employee Engagement Support Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including assigning training and tracking completion. Assist with employee engagement initiatives, surveys, recognition programs, and HR events. Support Employee Resource Group (ERG) activities, communications, and coordination. Participate in HR projects and departmental initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2\+ years of Payroll and/HR experience in a Payroll/HR Assistant, Payroll or HR Coordinator, or similar role. Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws.
