Wordibly is building a U.S.\-based team of Audio Transcription and Annotation Specialists for a substantial, longer\-term speech\-data project. This fully remote, hourly‑based role involves listening to conversational audio, creating or correcting verbatim transcripts, identifying speakers, labeling non‑speech events, and applying detailed annotation guidelines. Candidates must have native‑level U.S. English, strong spelling and grammar, excellent listening skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. The position offers $18\-20 per hour, 25‑30\+ hours per week, and the opportunity to advance to quality‑review responsibilities. Responsibilities Listen closely to conversational audio and create or correct accurate verbatim transcripts Preserve meaningful spoken content, including fillers, when required Identify speakers and mark speaker‑turn boundaries accurately Handle interruptions, overlapping speech, incomplete words, pauses, and other natural conversational behaviors Place approved labels for laughter, non‑speech events, audio artifacts, and other required conditions Assign required speaker and audio attributes using defined categories Review automated output and prior annotations, identify errors, and make defensible corrections Apply detailed annotation guidelines consistently across a large volume of work Flag unclear audio, edge cases, guideline conflicts, and possible system issues for review Respond constructively to quality feedback and correct returned work Meet established accuracy, productivity, attendance, and deadline expectations Protect confidential project information and follow all security and data‑handling requirements Qualifications Native‑level U.S. English Excellent comprehension of American conversational speech, accents, fillers, idioms, and regional usage Strong English spelling, grammar, punctuation, and writing skills Exceptional listening ability and attention to small differences in speech and sound Ability to follow detailed written guidelines and apply them consistently Sound judgment when handling ambiguous audio Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while remaining responsive Availability for approximately 25‑30\+ hours per week Reliable computer, stable high‑speed internet connection, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace Legally authorized to work in the United States Benefits Fully remote work within the United States Competitive hourly compensation Opportunity to build experience in speech data and AI\-supported language technology Potential advancement into quality‑review responsibilities
