In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, manage medical records and documentation, and ensure smooth administrative operations within a fast\-paced healthcare environment. Your attention to detail and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems will help facilitate efficient clinic workflows and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations. Schedule patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing, and perform collections for outstanding balances with accuracy and professionalism. Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR systems), including documentation review, data entry, and filing of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist clinicians with care plan documentation, CPT coding, ICD\-9/10 coding, and other medical coding tasks to support accurate billing and recordkeeping. Manage phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies using proper phone etiquette; handle inquiries efficiently. Support administrative tasks such as filing, typing reports, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to ensure a well\-organized clinic environment. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic setting is highly preferred, especially within dental or behavioral health clinics. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance processes—including Medicare—and medical billing practices. Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD\-9/10\) and documentation review to ensure accurate clinical records. Bilingual skills are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Excellent computer skills across Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with health information management practices. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while maintaining compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Strong clerical skills including filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing electronic health records management systems.
